Now I always boil bay leaves before cleaning, following my mother-in-law’s advice — the best household life hack from my collection.

Bay Leaves

Cleaning carpets is no easy task. Despite this, they require care.

But what if standard methods no longer work, and you don’t have the energy or desire to spend several hours cleaning? Taking a carpet to the dry cleaners is expensive, but don’t despair. I know a great method that my mother-in-law recommended to me. With its help, all my carpets have become perfectly clean.

The secret lies in a simple and affordable ingredient that can be found in every kitchen: bay leaves. They effectively remove stubborn stains and dirt, as well as destroy harmful bacteria and germs.

Before you start cleaning, you need to prepare. First, mix liquid soap with warm water and stir well. Apply the solution to the carpet, trying to avoid creating foam. Pay special attention to dirty areas and rub them gently. Then wipe the carpet with a damp cloth.

Now you can start preparing the solution with bay leaves. Boil water and add seven bay leaves to it. Let it steep for a couple of minutes, then pour it into a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the carpet and leave it for twenty minutes. After that, simply vacuum the carpet, and it will be clean and smell nice.

Before I start cleaning, I always prepare a solution with bay leaves, as it works great on stains and unpleasant odours. In addition, after using it, the carpet becomes soft and pleasant to the touch.
