It is one of the wonders of the Valley of the Kings, the necropolis that houses the tombs of the pharaohs near Luxor, on the west bank of the Nile in Egypt.
The tomb of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, one of the largest on the site, reopened on Saturday 4 October after more than twenty years of restoration work. Marc Gabolde, professor of Egyptology at Paul Valéry University in Montpellier, is the guest on Afrique Midi.
